SEOUL — On June 24th, Seokyeong University and the Indo-Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC) formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at promoting business and cultural development while fostering global K-Beauty and K-talent. The signing ceremony took place at the President’s office on the 3rd floor of Seokyeong University’s main building in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.The event was attended by notable figures including President Kim Beom-joon of Seokyeong University, Director Kim Dong-hwi of the Global Education Institute, Chairman Zena Chung of IKBCC, IKBCC’s Korean Director Kim Sung-hoon Chairman Heikki Ranta of the Finnish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Korea, Chief Secretary Song Se-chang of Korean National Assembly member Kim Young-bae, and Team Leader Cheon Se-jin of Nowon-gu District Office.“This partnership underscores our commitment to globalizing K-Beauty and nurturing world-class talents,” said President Kim Beom-joon of Seokyeong University. “Through this MOU, we aim to expand our reach beyond China, Japan, and Southeast Asia into significant markets such as India.” He emphasized the university’s dedication to cultivating competitive global talents in K-beauty makeup, the K-content industry, arts and cultures.The collaboration will involve joint research on educational programs to develop global talents, industry-academia cooperation through internships and job experiences, student exchanges, international cooperation, support for short-term training programs, and career and employment support in India, Korea, and other overseas markets. The agreement also includes initiatives for sharing employment information and forming specialized mentor-mentee groups tailored to specific fields.The Founder and Chairman Zena Chung of Indo-Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC) highlighted Seokyeong University’s international recognition, particularly its prominence as a filming location for the popular SBS TV drama “The Penthouse: War in Life.” “With the global influence of BTS, ‘Parasite,’ and ‘Squid Game,’ K-Beauty can become a significant trend in India amid the Hallyu wave. I look forward to our continued collaboration with Seokyeong University,” she stated.Zena Chung, a Korean-Canadian residing in India has been instrumental in promoting international exchange and cooperation between India and Korea. She collaborates with leading global business and NGO leaders from the United States, Canada, Europe, India, Middle East, and other regions on various issues, including international peace, climate change, environmental concerns, business, education, and the arts and culture.The partnership between Seokyeong University and IKBCC represents a significant step towards enhancing the global presence of Korean culture and education, reinforcing Seokyeong University’s status as an emerging global institution.
