They announce a Joint Strategic Action Plan for 2025-29 to enhance cooperation in key sectors.                                    Rio de Janeiro- Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni, on Tuesday during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. This was the fifth meeting between the two leaders in the past two years, with their last meeting taking place in June 2024 in Puglia, Italy, on the occasion of the G7 Summit, which was chaired by Prime Minister Meloni. Prime Minister Modi congratulated Prime Minister Meloni for her leadership of the G7 during these challenging times.Building on their discussions in Puglia, the two leaders reiterated their commitment to advancing the India-Italy Strategic Partnership and announced a Joint Strategic Action Plan for 2025-29. This plan outlines their shared vision for the next five years and focuses on joint collaborations in key sectors including trade and investment, science and technology, clean energy, space, defence, connectivity, and people-to-people ties.The two sides also agreed to hold regular ministerial and official dialogues in various domains. They emphasized co-production, industry collaborations, innovation, and mobility as key drivers to deepen the bilateral partnership, benefiting the economies and people of both nations.Prime Ministers Modi and Meloni expressed their intention to continue their collaboration on multilateral and global platforms, upholding shared values of democracy, rule of law, and sustainable development.
