Jodhpur, December 21. The 26th Jodhpur Polo Season 2025, organized by the Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute, was held at the Maharaja Gaj Singh Sports Foundation Polo Ground, Lieutenant General AVM HH Maharaja Umed Singh Ji Airport Road, Pabupura.
On Sunday, December 21, an exhibition match of the Indian Air Force Longewala Polo Cup was played between Desert Warriors and Dagger Warriors at 3 PM. Due to the excellent performance of both teams, the match ended in a tie, and both teams were declared joint winners. Jodhpur Polo’s patron, Maharaja Gaj Singh Ji, and the chief guest, Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor of the Indian Air Force, were present at the ground during the match. The Air Marshal formally inaugurated the game by throwing the ball at the start of the match. The Mehrangarh Band and the Nine Played Army Pipe One Madras Infantry Band entertained the spectators with their melodious tunes. Before the match, Indian Army paratroopers landed on the ground by parachute, which was greeted with applause from the polo enthusiasts present. Indrajeet Singh Nathawat, Honorary Secretary of the Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute, Jodhpur, said that in the Desert Warriors team, three handicapped players participated.
Naveen Singh of Delhi scored one goal each in the first and fourth chukkers and two goals in the third chukker. His teammate Dhananjay Singh Rathore scored one goal each in the first, second, and third chukkers. Playing for the Dagger Warriors, two handicapped players, Salim Azmi, scored two goals in the first chukker and one goal each in the second and fourth chukkers.
His teammate Mayurdhwaj Singh Talabgaon scored one goal each in the second and fourth chukkers, and Mrityunjay Singh scored one goal in the fourth chukker. As both teams had seven goals each by the end of the final chukker, both teams were declared joint winners. The match was umpired by Uday Kalan and Nikhilendra Singh Rathore. The referee was Indrajeet Singh Nathawat, and the commentary was jointly provided by Ankur Mishra and David Windsor from Australia.

At the end of the match, Maharaja Gaj Singh, along with the Chief Guest Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, jointly presented the cups and trophies to the players of both teams.

Before the Longewala Exhibition Cup match, 7 members of the Indian Air Force’s Akashganga Paratroopers jumped from an aircraft and landed on the field. The crowd present on the field welcomed them with applause.

Thakur and Mrs. Pooja Adhikari, Group Captain N.S. Baua and Mrs. Reena N. Baua, Group Captain A. Pal and Mrs. Aishwarya Srinivasan, Wing Commander P.K. Rathore and Mrs. Kavita Bhati, along with other Air Force officers, were present.

Deepak Kalwani, the Jodhpur coordinator of the Heartfulness organization, paid a courtesy visit to Maharaja Gaj Singh Ji today and informed him about World Meditation Day.
His Highness appreciated the efforts being made by the organization and expressed his interest and commitment towards meditation. Manoj Malani, Vidyaprakash Purohit and Vikas Moghe were also present on this occasion.

Monday, December 22nd will be a polo off-day; no matches will be played. The H.H. Maharaja of Jodhpur (8-goal) tournament will begin on Tuesday, December 23rd.
