Jodhpur, December 18. Under the aegis of
Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute, Jodhpur, two exhibition matches were played on Thursday, December 18, as part of the 26th Jodhpur Polo Season 2025 at the Maharaja Gaj Singh Sports Foundation Polo Ground, Lieutenant General AVM H.H. Maharaja Umed Singh Ji Airport Road, Pabupura. Both exhibition matches were won by the visiting team. The first match, played at 10:30 AM between Jodhpur Juniors and BPD Juniors, was won by the BPD team with a score of six goals to three, a difference of three goals. The second match, played at 11:30 AM between Jodhpur and BPD Royal Salute, was won by the visiting team with a score of seven goals to six, a difference of one goal. Jodhpur Polo’s patron, H.H. Maharaja Gaj Singh Ji, was present at the ground during the matches. At the end of the matches, Maharaja Gaj Singh Ji presented cups and trophies to the players of the winning teams. The Mehrangarh Band and the Nine Played Army Pipe One Madras Infantry Band entertained the spectators with melodious tunes.Indrajeet Singh Nathawat, Honorary Secretary of Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute, Jodhpur, said that in the first exhibition match, Leon Donoso, a five-handicap player from the BPD Junior team, scored one goal each in the first, second, and fourth chukkers and two goals in the third chukker, totaling five goals, putting the visiting team in a strong position. His teammate Andino Dosono also scored one goal in the second chukker. In the match, Lakshyaraj Singh Ranawat from the Jodhpur Junior team scored one goal in the first chukker. No goals were scored by the Jodhpur team in the second and third chukkas. In the fourth chukka, Major Mrityunjay Singh Chauhan and Naveen Singh scored one goal each.He said that the second exhibition match was quite interesting. Both teams displayed excellent gameplay. For the BPD Royal Salute team, three-handicap player Johnny Good scored one goal each in the first and third chukkas, Nick Clark scored one goal each in the second, third, and fourth chukkas, and five-handicap player Jose Donoso scored one goal each in the second and fourth chukkas. Playing for the Jodhpur team, four-handicap player Malcolm Borwick from the UK scored one goal each in the first, second, and fourth chukkas, three-handicap player Naveen Singh scored one goal each in the first and third chukkas,
and Nikhilendra Singh Rathore scored one goal in the third chukka. Both matches were umpired by Uday Kalan. Dhananjay Singh Rathore was the referee, and Ankur Mishra and David Windsor from Australia jointly provided commentary.

said that the shop offers various items including photo frames, polo T-shirts, polo caps, keychains, diaries, bags, and belts, which spectators are buying at reasonable prices.Jodhpur team received the ‘Hot as Mustard’ title in Britain:Manager Manoj Malani said that in 1925, the Jodhpur polo team, under the leadership of the then Maharaja Umaid Singh Ji, went to London to play a polo match. During that time, the Jodhpur team gave a spectacular performance, defeating all the other teams there.
Due to the Jodhpur team’s outstanding performance, an article was published in the British Taylor magazine, referring to the Jodhpur team as “Hot as Mustard.” This year, to commemorate the centenary of that article’s publication, Jodhpur Jewels has launched several new products, which are available to the general public at the Polo Shop.December 19th and 20th will be holidays, the Indian Air Force Longewala Polo Cup exhibition match will be held on December 21st -Friday, December 19th and Saturday,
December 20th will be polo off-days; no matches will be played.
