AMU Alumnus Makes Contribution to Next-Generation 6G Communication

Aligarh, January 15: An outstanding international accomplishment by AMU alumnus Prof. Muhammad Shah Alam, formerly of the Department of Electronics Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), whose contributions to next-generation wireless communication have received global acclaim.Currently serving as Professor of Electrical Engineering at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU), Riyadh, Prof. Alam led a research team that developed a novel 6G transmission line technology, which received the Gold Medal at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions held in Geneva, Switzerland. The exhibition is internationally regarded as a leading platform for showcasing breakthrough technological innovations.The award-winning research addresses key challenges in millimeter-wave transmission, a critical element for achieving higher data rates, low latency, and broader frequency coverage in future 6G networks. By combining advanced materials with an innovative design approach, the technology delivers marked performance improvements over existing methods, offering a scalable solution for next-generation wireless systems.The innovation has secured US patents, featured at major international conferences and technology expos in the United States, and been published in leading IEEE journals, highlighting its scientific value and commercial promise.
