He dedicates the award to the people of India and strengthens ties between the two nations.Guyana/Georgetown, 21 Nov 2024 – Guyana has conferred its highest national award, “The Order of Excellence,” on PM Narendra Modi on Thursday In a ceremony at the State House, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, conferred upon India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi the highest national award of Guyana, “The Order of Excellence.”The award was conferred for PM Modi’s “visionary statesmanship, championing the rights of developing countries on the global stage, exceptional service to the global community, and his commitment to strengthening India-Guyana relations.”While accepting the award, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the honour to the 1.4 billion people of India and to the deep-rooted historical ties between the people of the two countries. He emphasized that his state visit is a testament to India’s continued commitment toward deepening India-Guyana friendship.PM Modi further said, “India is ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with Guyana in every field. As democracies, our cooperation is not only for bilateral relations but also holds significant importance for the entire Global South.”In a post shared on X, PM Modi expressed his gratitude, writing, “Sincerely thank President Dr. Irfaan Ali,
