AMU Research Scholar Wins Award at International Conference in Kerala

ALIGARH, June 22: Areeba Khayal, a research scholar in the Department of Industrial Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University, has won the Third Prize in the Poster Presentation category at the International Conference and Workshop on Advanced Materials and Manufacturing for Biomedical and Composite Applications (AMBC-2026) held at the International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IIUCNN), Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala.
Her award-winning poster, Synergistic Integration of Porosity, Conductivity, and Enzymatic Functionality in Hydrogels for Efficient Glucose Sensing, presented an innovative hydrogel platform for glucose sensing with potential applications in wearable healthcare devices.
Areeba also delivered a short, invited lecture on Next-Generation Multifunctional Hydrogels for Wearable Electronics: Bridging Soft Matter, Sensing, and Smart Interfaces, highlighting recent advances in multifunctional hydrogels for smart sensing and wearable electronic systems.
She is pursuing her Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr Shahab Ali Asghar Nami, Associate Professor and Chairman, Department of Industrial Chemistry.
